Anthology Unveils AI-Driven Features for Enhanced Learning in Blackboard Learn

Anthology, a frontrunner in education solutions, recently declared the incorporation of several AI-powered features to Blackboard Learn aimed at enriching learning experiences and granting more comprehensive insights into student progress. These innovative functionalities include an Accessibility Checker influenced by Anthology Ally, a Holistic Student Overview, Progress Tracking, and advanced course building tools. The ultimate goal? Enhancing student retention and success.

Jim Milton, CEO of Anthology, emphasized the company’s enduring mission: to develop a Learning Management System (LMS) within the Anthology ecosystem that champions data-driven, impactful student experiences. The new features, designed keeping instructors at the helm, are a leap towards that ambition. They simplify the course-building process, suggesting structures, images, test questions, grading rubrics, and more, always keeping the teacher in charge of content.

JD White, Anthology’s Chief Product Officer, highlighted a shift in the LMS’s traditional role. With AI’s power, the LMS is now an active, inspirational entity in the teaching process, enabling faster, more engaging course development.

The AI enhancements are complemented by Progress Tracking, which offers in-depth insights into student performance and engagement. The Holistic Student Overview further delves into a student’s academic journey, ensuring educators have a comprehensive view of each student’s progress.

Furthermore, the Accessibility Checker by Anthology Ally assists educators in identifying and rectifying accessibility issues in their content. Another notable launch is Anthology Adopt, empowered by Pendo, which offers crucial insights and in-app guidance to users.

Blackboard Learn Ultra’s adoption is surging, with a 50% rise in courses since June 2022. Transitioning to Learn Ultra is now more streamlined, thanks to tools like the Ultra Adoption Toolkit and bulk course conversion.

The upcoming AI features are set to undergo testing in August and are slated for a September release. Current Learn Ultra institutions worldwide can now access the Accessibility Checker, Progress Tracking, and Holistic Student Overview.
